That’s a Wrap: Pickle Palooza 2026 is in the Books and it was Dill-icious

The 2026 Pickle Palooza is in the books! Once again, Carole Kitchell created an amazing, fun-filled atmosphere full of prizes and pickleball.

We had 24 registered players, with 22 showing up on game day. There were 11 teams split into two groups (basically by age). A total of 31 games were played!

Group A medalists were Myles Foushee and his partner Shea Moyen for the gold, Ezra Mitchell and Leeds Mitchell for the silver, and the bronze medal to Weston Lo and Luke Rain. The Spirit of the Founders medal went to Leeds Mitchell.

In Group B, the Gold medalists were Griffin Hardying and Noam Davoodi, with the silver going to Quinn Combes and Emery Tartar.  The bronze medal went to Brooks Kopetti and Noah Tracy. The Spirit of the Founders medal was awarded to Emery Tartar.

A big thank you to Carole and Jim Kitchell for spearheading this event. Mary Harmon enjoyed being Carole’s second.  And let’s not forget our Tournament Director, Julie Zalikowski, who managed the brackets and kept the tournament running smoothly. Mark Mumm gets special mention for bringing all his pickleball “toys” for players and siblings to enjoy.

More than 15 volunteers worked on this event. Donors were Cheryl Besser, Tammy Fujihara, John Hussey, Leigh Tatum, David Lambert, the Kitchells, Zev Co-op, Island Cool, BIP, Blue Canary Auto, Bainbridge Bike Co., Inszone, and BIP. BI Parks provided additional snacks and drinks. We hope you enjoy the pics as much as we did.
